'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Trailer, Spoilers & Updates: New Photos Revealed
Last season, we saw a devastated Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) fall apart without Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder). This year, we will be without her, but there's going to be a lot more drama in Mystic Falls than ever before.
Thanks to last season's flash-forward finale, fans already know that there will be utter loss and devastation in the middle of family drama and power play (not to mention messy love lives) in the upcoming season premiere.
They already had to face werewolves, witches, hybrids, heck, even The Originals, but it seems that it's not the end for the Mystic Falls gang -- this time, as seen in the trailer, they will be fighting supernatural terrorists in the form of vampire/witch hybrid known as Heretics.
The trailer also shows a bunch of other new villains that E! News suggests may out-evil Kai (Chris Wood), but as the gang demonstrated time and time again, they will not go down without a fight.
If you're skeptical about that, take it from Damon, who asked over the phone "About how long do we have before this evil engulfs the world? Just trying to plan my week."
These new set photos look like mayhem, though. Check them out. After you check that out, here are other spoilers that you can get from the trailer, as listed by SheKnows.com:
Damon will be in a coffin at some point. We don't know why or how (yet), but there is that one quick shot of the older Salvatore brother rising from a coffin and gasping for breath.
Stefan (Paul Wesley) isn't just a vampire-ripper-writer, he is also a bomb maker. He asked an anonymous person for help in bomb-making, but while Alaric (Matthew Davis) is good on the grenades, Stefan seems like an unlikely dabbler in explosives.
In an unlikely pairing, it also looks like Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) will end up working together, although there is a possibility that they can be more than that. Julie Plec mentioned in TV Line that Bonnie is going to have a romantic future ahead and with Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) out of the picture, they will be pairing her up with someone else. When asked about Bonnie's potential partner, Plec said, "It's not a woman yet, but it's a little bit surprising. It comes strangely out of nowhere, but it will make a lot of sense. That's my enigmatic tease."
Steroline finally gets hot and heavy, although with all the supernatural terrorists and other random evil entities they're fighting, we really can't be sure how long that will last.
What do you think will happen this season? "The Vampire Diaries" returns on October 8 on the CW.
