Aaron Rodgers Reunited With Randall Cobb During Green Bay Packers Practice
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers got reunited with his teammate and buddy receiver Randall Cobb during a team practice on Wednesday.
In an AP report published by Yahoo Sports, it was noted that Cobb returned after he missed the preseason last week due to a sprained right shoulder which he hurt last Aug 29 in their loss to Philadelphia.
During their practice, Rodgers reportedly participated in the "special teams and position drills" of Green Bay as they prepare for their first game of the season versus the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
Fox Sports added that Cobb was still in some pain, but he was already able to join practice on Wednesday.
Also present on Wednesday was wide receiver James Jones, who resigned with the team this week.
"Stability I think is the biggest thing. James has done it in a game for years, he's done it in practice many times as well. That's how the continuity starts with the quarterback," Rodgers told Fox Sports.
With Jones on the team, it is expected that Rodgers will have another great backup on the receiving end.
"I think it might take a little bit to get back with the terminology, the route running and stuff. Completed a lot of passes to him, a lot of touchdowns, so I feel good about him being out there," the quarterback added.
In a similar report, ESPN said that bringing Jones back did not cost that much for the Packers.
It indicated that his contract was a one-year deal for $870,000 with no signing bonus.
Packers News noted that the team actually did not see the need to sign Jones three weeks ago, but it changed when Jordy Nelson tore an anterior cruciate ligament.
Jones said he immediately reached out to Nelson after the injury but was not expecting that he will be able to join the Packers again.
"To be honest with you, I didn't even think about it, man. Jordy and I are so close. The only thing I thought about was my man missing a whole season. I know how hard that dude works. I didn't even think about it. I just called him. At first I texted him said, 'Please tell me it's not true,'" he added.
The wide receiver also claimed that after a roller coaster experience, he hopes to find some direction with the Packers.
"It's been like my life, man. A lot of ups and downs. A lot of good and a lot of bad. That's life, man. You have to run with it sometimes and take the punches that are given and keep on going. I'm here. Hopefully, we can get something was done and I'll be playing football again," Jones added in the Packers News report.
