Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs Apple iPad Air 3: Battle of 3 Biggest Specs & Features [Rumors]
In the battle of gadgets, you'd want to get your money's worth -- and this year's biggest releases are Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 and Apple's iPad Air 3. Both companies are on top of their game, but ultimately, which of them will be worth your while? Check out these specks and features as noted by PC Tablet and PC Advisor:
DESIGN
The Surface Pro 4 has a reduced thickness compared to its predecessor, but it looks great with its silver magnesium body with color variants that may include Black and Blue.
The iPad Air, on the other hand, will probably look more or less the same as the iPad Air 2, although knowing the company, Apple may upgrade many of its features to a more compressed design.
PROCESSOR
The Surface Pro 4 is going to come with a powerful quad-core Intel-based processors, which means that it's going to be more robust than the typical dual-core ones. However, the Surface Pro 3 is known to heat up during intense tasks, something that Microsoft should look to fix.
The iPad Air 3, on the other hand, is going to operate with Apple's A9X dual-coe processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM. While the Surface Pro may have to check with their heating issues, iPad Air 2 never had that problem, which means that around the same performance can also be expected for the iPad Air 3.
DISPLAY
The Surface Pro 4 will feature a 12-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a resolutely larger screen size than its competitor.
On the other hand, the iPad Air 3 is going to go with the 9.7-inch Retina display with 2048 x 1536 pixels.
As for its other features, the Surface Pro 4 will be outfitted with a Windows 10 operating system, with while the Apple will go with the iOS 9. As for its memory, the Surface Pro 4 will have a 4GB of RAM with a 256GB storage, while the iPad Air 3 is said to have 4GB or 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM with 16GB, 64GB and 128GB options.
However, as far as comparisons are concerned, the Surface Pro 4 is actually a tablet-laptop hybrid, which means that it can even go so far as to compete with the lower-end portable laptops, which means that it can do more tasks than the iPad, which in an essence is a mere tablet.
Which one would you want to have this year, the Surface Pro 4, or is the Apple iPad Air 3 more your style?
