Ingeñuity Aims to Share Latino Success Stories & More to Broader Public
It could be because of Donald Trump's racist remarks against Latinos or it could be because they think it's the right time, but as of now, the Latino community is refusing to stay quiet -- they are not all thieves and rapists and criminals, they can be wildly successful as well.
NBC News reported that David Chavez, who owns the company Latinpointe, has said that he heard "remarkable stories" of successful Latinos who were able to beat the odds in a cruel economy, but that not many can hear their stories. According to Business Wire, this move is reflective of the changing demographics of diversity being the driving force of American Capitalism.
With his motivation to share their success to a broader audience, he teamed up with his wife, Sarah Ruiz Chavez and Sol Trujillo, an international business executive, to create Ingeñuity, a media company that aims to showcase a more successful side to the Latino community.
Chavez said that one of the goals of Ingenuity is to "take these incredible Latino stories and share them with the broader public."
To do so, he said that the company plans on being a leader in broad-based media, digital and live event property platforms, including culture, music, sports, comedy, excellence and success. It also plans of building a brand launched by its Success and Excellence Platforms with the help of a bureau of speakers, among which are Latino celebrities, journalists, business leaders, athletes, and community leaders as well.
Clients that will help produce the company with everything from television specials and concerts and award shows can turn to the bureau when they need help in finding motivational speakers for their events.
He shared, "It really is about making sure that our stories are told. We have so much excellence and success in our community that we need to share it -- we need to tell it."
Trujillo, who is also an investor in the company said, "Ingeñuity is a growth building agency for entities looking to connect with diverse audiences from influencers to millions of consumers. We simply will be brand-building through innovation, delivering high-profile and meaningful 'connection' opportunities for clients."
According to Business Wire, Ingeñuity's Successful Platform, which is launched through the creation of "Success Stories Live" will launch this September with 40 of successful Latinos. Then there's also the Tours Division, which has joined forces with a broadcast journalist and philanthropist Soledad O'Brien, who will co-produce a three-month, multi-city college tour in the fall.
Finally, to wrap up the media company, there are already several corporate brands working with Ingeñuity, among them Macy's, Southwest Airlines and the Los Angeles Times.
