Manny Pacquiao Next Fight News: Pacman To Talk With Floyd Mayweather’s Camp Regarding Fight

Manny Pacquiao is reportedly set to fly to the United States not only to celebrate the yuletide season with his family there, but as well to arrange a super fight with undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr.

In a gutsy move to finally book the highly anticipated bout, Pacquiao is apparently set to meet Mayweather and his camp in an attempt to set a date with the reigning pound-for-pound champion as early as the second quarter of 2014.

In an interview with Spin.ph, Pacquiao expressed his willingness to talk with Money May. The Saranggani congressman even believed there's a chance that the fight with Mayweather could happen, if everything falls into place.

"We have to talk first. If we can come to an agreement, then we'll talk about the fight. We still don't know, but there's a chance," Pacquiao told Spin.ph.

Mayweather, Not Optimistic on potential Pacquiao Fight

On the other hand, Mayweather has remained firm in his stance of not fighting Pacquiao despite the bold move by the World Boxing Council to put the former eight-division world champion as the No.1 contender for Money May's WBC Welterweight Belt.

Mayweather stressed that Pacquiao still has to prove himself inside the ring after going 1-2 in his last three fights. He also pointed out the weak Pay-Per-View buys generated by Pacquiao's 12-round unanimous decision win over Californian brawler Brandon Rios.

"Like I said before, he's 1 and 2 in his last 3 fights. And my last 45 fights, I'm 45 and 0," Mayweather told Fight Hype. "You look at his pay-per-view numbers. Do your homework. You know, first you gotta do your homework. Look at my pay-per-view numbers, look at his pay-per-view numbers, and then you tell me what you come up with."

Mayweather, who racked up over $100 million from his lopsided fights with Robert Guerrero and Saul Canelo Alvarez this year, is reportedly close to naming Great Britain's top welterweight Amir Khan as his next opponent for his May 3 fight.

Meanwhile, Top-Rank Promoter Bob Arum is scheduled to announce Pacquiao's next opponent before Christmas Day, and it will likely be a rematch against WBO Welterweight titlist Tim Bradley or a fifth rumble with nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez on April 12.
