Miguel Cotto vs Canelo Alvarez 2015: Fight Date, Predictions, Tickets & Los Angeles Press Tour

The long-awaited match between Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto and Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will finally happen on Nov. 21 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

US News mentioned that it was a difficult and long process to get the two fighters into one ring and vie for WBC middleweight title.

In a kickoff press tour in Los Angeles on Monday, Cotto and Alvarez appeared together for the formal announcement of their bout.

"Like any big fight, the negotiations are going to be hard. But I'm honored to fight a guy with his accomplishments. This is a big step in my career," Alvarez said in the US News report.

The 25-year-old Mexican is reportedly favored to win against Cotto, who has a record of 40-4 with 33 knockout victories.

Alvarez's fans, who attended Monday's event, even booed the Puerto Rican and his camp all throughout the press conference.

Reacting to this, Cotto said he does not really focus his attention on what other people will say but just work on his practice for the fight. "I don't know what people say about the fight, and I don't care. I focus on myself, on my training camp. Nothing else matters," he said.

In a similar Los Angeles Times report, Cotto's trainer Freddie Roach said his boxer's formula will be to fight smarter.

"He will be elusive, I promise you. You'll see a whole different guy for this fight," Roach teased.

Cotto has greatly attributed his renewed career to the trainer whom he claimed "revitalized" boxing for him. Roach focused on regaining Cotto's power after losing two consecutive fights.

For Alvarez, co-trainer Chepo Reynoso said the Mexican is planning to utilize his movements, "side to side -- to use angles, to win by boxing."

Meanwhile, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya conveyed in a Daily News report that boxing fans will not be "disappointed" with this fight unlike with the bout of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao last May.

Meeting at 155 pounds, the Alvarez-Cotto match is indeed something to watch out for as whoever will be declared winner will face the winner of the bout between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux come Oct. 17.

Predicting some outcomes of the fight, Daily News said that Canelo has the age advantage being nine years younger than Cotto and he also has a five-inch reach edge.

But Cotto should also not be counted out as he has really been improving with Roach's help.

"Roach cut down on Cotto's heavy cardio work and focused him on workouts designed to keep him fresh," added US News.

Starting Tuesday, tickets will go on sale for a price of $150 to $2,000 via Ticketmaster.
