Nicki Minaj 'Anaconda' Wax Figure Needing Extra Security? Meek Mill Split Speculations Heat Up
Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas has made it a point to get enhanced security for their wax figure of American rapper Nicki Minaj after scandalous photos of the statue spread all over social media amid her rumored breakup with Meek Mill.
According to Madame Noire, the museum has released a statement that they are 'beefing up' the security around Minaj's "Anaconda"-inspired wax figure in the wake of fans taking photos of themselves with the figure in morally questionable poses.
"We have been made aware of the inappropriate photograph. Madame Tussauds attractions are interactive, immersive experiences, and our visitors are generally respectful towards the wax figures. It is unfortunate that this visitor decided to behave so inappropriately, and we apologize for any offense this has caused," the wax museum's statement explained.
The museum was referring to an image posted over Instagram showing a man taking advantage of the suggestive pose the wax figure was positioned with a caption: "They are at the museum acting up with #NickiMinaj 's #MadameTussauds wax figure!"
While this image is most probably the "last straw that broke the camel's back," other fans still seem to think that it is okay for them to pose with the statue in questionable positions because it is just mimicry of the real thing.
Azealia Banks, a fellow American rapper, apparently saw it coming after Tweeting: "All ppl are gonna do is go up to that statue and take pictures shoving their crotch in her face and putting their crotch on her butt."
In another Tweet, Banks also questioned how Minaj's figure was positioned on all fours considering that all other wax figures of female musicians and singers of the same caliber were molded in a standing pose.
Madame Tussauds immediately defended the wax figure's pose.
Museum management told Fader that the iconic "Anaconda" video became popular due to Minaj's "artistry and charisma," something which the museum wishes to celebrate by making her immortal using the statue.
"Since unveiling Minaj's figure and the 'Anaconda'-inspired experience earlier this month, our visitors have responded with overwhelming positivity, and it has since become one of the most popular additions in the attraction," the museum explained.
The museum said Minaj's camp had been in on everything from the very beginning.
The figure, says Yahoo! Celebrity, must have received the rapper's approval considering Minaj has not expressed any discontent or discomfort with it since it was unveiled.
Minaj has yet to make a statement about this issue.
Meanwhile, Minaj's relationship with long-time beau Meek Mill looks like it is in rocky waters.
According to Hollywood Life, the couple Tweeted about the backlash that their steamy PDA during their concert.
"Caring 2 much about what others think will have u cursing your blessings. Be careful," Minaj posted over her official Twitter account while Mill wrote "Count me out! #rememberthistweet."
