Microsoft Surface Phone Coming Out as 'Surface Mobile'? Top 5 Specs & Features Expected in Windows 10 Smartphone [Rumors]
Microsoft's Surface brand boomed after the Surface Pro 3 was launched, leading the company to create a portable device that can go with it.
The new addition to Microsoft's growing Surface family, which has been dubbed the "Surface Phone" or "Surface Mobile," is making the company re-think its strategies that led to the $3 billion loss they incurred from acquiring Nokia.
According to UK's Business Insider, a rumored new device code-named "Juggernaut Alpha" would soon be branded as the Surface Mobile upon its speculated release either by the last quarter of 2015 or on early 2016.
Leaked images and information about the device is being floated by the site WMPowerUser, which includes some amazing specs and features that 'premium-loving folk' may like.
Our top five of these include:
A Crystal Clear Display and Snapper
Among the most wanted features in a smartphone is a very clear display that could deliver crisp images.
The maker of the Surface Phone is rumored to deliver a device that has a 5.5-inch AMOLED display matched with 1440 x 2560 resolution with a 16:9 screen ratio.
This, says WMPowerUser, is made of the ever-so-tough ClearBack Gorilla Glass 4 that can withstand as much as twice the drop impact than that of other leading glass designs.
Of course, what better way to deliver that unforgettable memory-capturing capability than matching this crystal clear display with an impressive 21-megapixel PureView Zeiss 6-lens rear camera and an 8MP Zeiss Wide-Angle front snapper.
Exterior Material
Tech Radar and Techno Buffalo agreement that the device would be sporting a unibody metal design made of Aluminum-magnesium.
Tech Radar also said that this is entirely different from the usual Lumia brand that has that "classic plastic feel."
Internal System and Storage
The new mobile device from Microsoft is powered with a 64-bit Intel Atom x3 (SoFIA) and a quad-core processor, as well as random access memory of as much as 4GB.
According to WMPowerUser, the phone would also be manufactured in "lower end" version which would only have 3GB of RAM.
In terms of storage, Microsoft is rumored to offer a 64GB and 128GB internal memory option, both of which can be expanded to as much as 256GB via MicroSD.
Samsung-Like Stylus and Wireless Charging Capabilities
Rumors say that the new Surface Phone would reportedly be capable of responding to a stylus pen similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note's S-pen.
According to Tech Radar, the Surface Phone would also be capable of wireless charging, the same as the Korean company's Galaxy Note 5.
Windows 10 Mobile
The new mobile to be released alongside the Lumias would be run by the most current build of the highly anticipated Windows 10 Mobile.
This would allow users of the Surface Mobile to work on their tasks using both their Windows 10-run computers and their mobile device.
