Nexus 5 (2015) Release Date: LG Phone Getting Major Display Upgrade? Price, Specs & Features [Rumors]
Leaks of the upcoming Google Nexus 5 (2015) reveal that the gadget will come with a large display for a better mobile experience.
NDTV Gadgets reported that the leaked renders of the Nexus 5 shows a slim design for the phone with the volume control and power button placed on its right side.
"The bottom panel will house the 3.5mm audio jack and will also include the charging slot. The left panel of the handset is said to sport the SIM card slot," the report said.
The renders also reportedly show that the Nexus 5 may come with a fingerprint scanner which is believed to be placed on the rear side of the phone, below the main camera.
The Verge discussed that Google is rumored to have tapped Huawei to produce a 5.7-inch Nexus device while LG was tasked to make the 5.2-inch model of the Nexus 5.
It explained that this potential tie-up between the companies could be really helpful to all of them and will help Google's presence n China.
The Verge said the partnership will simultaneously build the brand in the United States.
The same report said that the recent leaks were renders of the LG device based from the logo at the back of he phone.
"The image closely resembles renders of the supposed LG device, leaked late last week, with a rounded back and a camera that appears to protrude slightly from the case," the report said.
PocketLint said that the upcoming device is rumored to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset.
Aside from the fingerprint scanning feature which will support Android Pay, the device is also expected to have a USB Type-C connectors.
Other rumored features of the Nexus 5 are front-facing speakers, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter acvording to PocketLint.
When it is launched, the Nexus phone is believed to run on the most awaited Android M update which will support all the features rumoured to be featured in the device.
"You can be certain that Android M will have some fancy new camera functions, but we doubt it will be the best camera around. Bitter experience leads us to that conclusion," added the same report.
As for its release date, PocketLint said Google has yet go define a month but noted that it could be announced by the end of the year.
"It's likely to be in October 2015, in line with the introduction of Android M. Google has said that Android M is on schedule for 'fall,'" added PocketLint.
Expected to cost between $300-$400, the Nexus 5 is another awaited gadget in the market this year.
