Pokémon X and Y Pokédex Update: Free Celebi with Pokémon Bank Subscription Starts Dec. 27 with New Hold Back Move [Video]
Pokémon fans can obtain a special legendary Pokémon from the Johto region for their "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" games as the franchise is set to launch its cloud app in the U.S.
Nintendo held its last "Nintendo Direct" presentation of 2013 on Dec. 18 with an array of announcements concerning many video games. One of the games revolved around the latest sixth-generation Pokémon games that launched in October.
The Pokémon Company International has announced that the download of the Pokémon Bank will receive the Mythical Time Travel Pokémon Celebi.
The legendary Pokémon, which made its debut for the second-generation games, can be received between Dec. 27 and Sept. 30. Celebi will be available with the move Hold Back, which cannot be learned in regular gameplay. Hold Back will always leave the opponent with at least 1HP of health. Celebi's other moves include Heal Bell, Recover, and Safeguard.
Players can download Pokémon Bank starting Dec. 27 and receive a 30-day free trial before the annual fee of $4.99 begins per year.
With the Pokémon Bank, gamers can manage their own online space and fill up to 3,000 Pokémon on the service. Due to the massive number of Pokémon the Pokémon Bank can accept, the service will have an "advanced" filtering option. With Pokémon Bank, people can also utilize the Pokémon Transporter, which will transfer Pokémon from across the four generation-five games ("Pokémon Black Version," "Pokémon White Version," "Pokémon Black 2 Version," and "Pokémon White 2 Version) and send them to the latest "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" versions.
