'Star Wars: The Force Awakens': Episode 7 Trailer, Spoilers, Cast, Release Date & Everything We Know So Far
There was a lot of excitement on and off the stage at the D23 Expo, especially for the fans of Star Wars.
A new poster, created by famed artist Drew Struzan, made its way to the expo.
Although no HD version has been released yet, Cinema Blend managed to sneak a pic for the fans.
While the photo itself looked wonderful, Struzan's work also gave audiences a closer glimpse at the main characters.
It revealed that John Boyega's Finn is wielding Luke Skywalker's blue lightsaber while Daisy Ridley's Rey is a badass with a gun.
However, the latest poster is not the biggest news for "Star Wars" fans.
It seems that even older generations - at least the generation of the original trilogy - will have a reason to visit Disney parks all over again.
Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger announced at the D23 that they were "also excited about bringing the characters to every corner of the company", which, as it turned out, is a collaboration of Disney Parks and the Star Wars Galaxy.
Iger teased, "We're bringing Star Wars to life in a big way, and I mean really big."
He shared, "We're creating a jaw-dropping new world, that represents our largest single-themed land expansion ever. We knew it needed to be big, we knew it needed to be great, so we're going to transport guests to a whole new planet."
Entertainment Weekly noted that the new world is going to be on a 14-acre land with massive expansion to two parks.
Still unnamed at the moment, the Star Wars world is expected to be home to humanoids, aliens, and droids, with attractions that includes a cantina, similar to the one seen in the original films.
Iger added, "Every store and restaurant will be operated by local inhabitants, making each experience deeply immersive. Nothing in the land will be out of character or stray from mythology.
Disney did not say when the Star Wars World is expected to open.
However, USA Today said that park visitors will be able to experience more from the sci-fi classic as the theme park is on its way to being built - Space Mountain is to be tranformed into Hyperspace Mountain, and 3D simulator Star Tours is expected to include new characters from Episode 7.
"Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" will be released in theaters on December 18, 2015.
