'American Ultra' Trailer & Release Date: John Leguizamo, Kristen Stewart & Jesse Eisenberg Talk About New Movie
In the new flick, "American Ultra," Kristen Stewart finds herself acting alongside "Adventureland" co-star Jesse Eisenberg for another time, along with "Ice Age" voice actor John Leguizamo.
The action-comedy flick is about a mind-altered government operative who has been marked as a liability and targeted for extermination.
The stars spoke about their "American Ultra"experience:
John Leguizamo shared on Today that his character is somewhat of a tattooed lowlife, with a lot of tattoos on his torso. When he had to put the fake tatts on, he realized that he had to stand still for four hours while they're being applied -- something that he's not willing to do every day of the shoot.
He revealed, "They don't even let you move ... you have to stay like that. So then I realized I couldn't shower, because I wasn't going to do that every day, four hours."
By the end of a week without shower, he joked, "I was ripe, like Brie or something."
Kristen Stewart spoke about her role in the film with E! News, and it seems that having Eisenberg attached to the film was a deciding factor for her. She told the outlet, "As soon as I heard that Jesse was attached to a script that was sent my way, before I even read it, I was almost certain that-and considering that they wanted me to do it-I was like, oh cool, this is my next job, before I even got to the end of it."
She also spoke about how different the experience was from her previous action stints, and she admits to "American Ultra" being gritter. She shared, "of the action I've done in movies, typically it's been very fantastic-its been in a fantasy. And so this was very gritty, real."
In a separate Today interview, Jesse Eisenberg shared how different his "American Ultra" role is from previous ones. He admitted to being excited for it, as he normally does movies with "people complaining in rooms. This is the greatest thing."
As for his relationship with Stewart on-screen (they will also be appearing together in a Woody Allen film), he admitted that he's "just lucky"although he thinks Stewart "lost a bet" being teamed up with him.
Topher Grace and Connie Briton will also be joining Leguizamo, Stewart, and Eisenberg on the action flick dubbed as a stoned version of Jason Bourne. "American Ultra" hits theaters on August 21.
