BlackBerry 'Venice' Android Slider Smartphone Sporting Beast Main Camera? Release Date, Specs & Price [Rumors]
The first-ever Android phone from Blackberry will not only be exciting for its operating system, but also because of its features, such as a powerful rear camera, if reports are to be believed.
Dubbed as Venice, the slider phone is expected to have an 18MP main shooter armed with OIS, based from the leaks released by CrackBerry.
The case renders presented in the web site showed how the phone looks while running on Android. It also showcased that the beast camera may really be coming with the device.
CrackBerry added that the new Blackberry phone will sport "the same glass weave pattern" of the BlackBerry Z30 but with a stainless steel frame. The upcoming device is also believed to have Chromecast access, like other Android devices.
For those who may not know, Chromecast is a media streaming device plugged into the HDMI port of a television.
"Simply use an Android phone, tablet, iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows laptop, or Chromebook to cast your favorite entertainment and apps right to the big screen," Google introduced.
A similar PCMag report noted that buzz surrounding BlackBerry's Android tie-up stems after the Canadian company's announcement of partnership with Google, in order to "set new standards in enterprise mobile security for organizations deploying Android devices."
The two companies have reportedly planned to integrate BlackBerry's BES12 security software and Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system together.
In addition, Tech Times noted that the BlackBerry Venice will be the "last-ditch attempt" of the company in trying to revive their business.
"Even though BlackBerry has shown little signs of life with the unveiling of BlackBerry Classic and BlackBerry Passport, the numbers are not enough to make BlackBerry able to stand up to the iOS and Android duopoly in the United States," the outlet said.
For its features and specifications, Tech Times said Blackberry will still come with a QWERTY keypad, expected to slide out from a screen measuring 5.4-inch with Quad HD display and a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.
ValueWalk also mentioned that the device will have a 64-bit 1.8 GHz Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 3GB of RAM.
The upcoming phone will reportedly launch before the year ends, as ValueWalk detailed that it may cost around $1,000. But then again, with no official announcement from the company, all these information are still best taken with a grain of salt.
