Wide receiver Michael Floyd will not be able to play for the first six weeks of the new season due to three dislocated fingers.

NFL said that Floyd sustained the injury during team practice on Wednesday.

The Arizona Cardinals likely will begin a new season without the wide receiver.

It has been estimated that he might miss a minimum of three weeks to a maximum of six weeks to give way to his recovery.

ESPN reported that he got the injuries during the first 45 minutes of their practice. He left after incident.

ESPN added that the wide receiver has a record of 95 passes for 841 yards and a career-high six touchdowns for the previous season.

According to NFL's website, his injury is "a setback for the Cardinals' offense" since the team is expecting better production for the upcoming season.

His replacement is expected to be receiver John Brown, who will work with Larry Fitzgerald for the position.

"Now it will be up to newly acquired tight end Jermaine Gresham, fellow wide receiver John Brown and Fitzgerald to hold down the fort while Floyd is sidelined," Bleacher Report stated.

Though it is believed that Floyd is hard to replace, a group of players in the team can hopefully do what he does best for the team but this may not be an easy task for them.

"When he does return, though, Cardinals players, coaches and fans are likely to appreciate him even more than they did before," Bleacher Report said.

Meanwhile, Heavy explained that Brown is expected to step up in the weeks that Floyd will be out of the games but he seems to be all prepped up and ready for the challenge.

The third-year receiver, according to Arizona Sports, wowed the crowd during their Tuesday practice. He reportedly had a great catch which was captured by the cameras.

"It was a good catch. I came down kind of hard, so it knocked the breath out of me," he said.

Asked of the position battle in the team, Brown said there is nothing new.

"I'm used to that. I came in undrafted, so I'm the underdog all the time. Every day, just got to be consistent with it," he said.

Arizona Sports said Brown is on the No. 6 on his team with 22 receptions for 229 yards and two touchdowns. He plans to improve and be a better player.

"Just improve from last year. Be more consistent and try to eliminate the mental errors. Just little things like that I've got to improve on and hopefully I'll make the 53," Brown said.
