Joe Jackson Leaves Brazil Hospital After Stroke & Heart Attacks, Allegedly Took 3 Viagra Pills
Joe Jackson, father of the late iconic singer Michael Jackson, is said to have been released out of the Brazilian hospital he was confined in for suffering a stroke and multiple heart attacks.
Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein Hospital said that Jackson was discharged on Monday, August 3, Fox News Latino reported.
Paulo Andre Silva, a partner at Nexxing, the company that invited the talent manager to the country, said that Jackson is recuperating at Sao Paulo apartment and that he is expected to fly back to the U.S. on Saturday with his daughter Janet and son Jermaine, the news outlet added.
Jackson had an artery burst behind his eye that caused temporary blindness and probably triggered a stroke, TMZ reported.
In addition, Jackson sustained three heart attacks while he was confined at the hospital, with his heart stopping for 10 seconds before he was revived by the medical staff. The 87-year-old had to have a pacemaker implanted as well, a separate report from TMZ added.
The hospital issued a statement saying that Jackson was admitted on Sunday afternoon, July 26, because of an irregular heartbeat aside from waking up feeling dizzy and blind, making him miss his birthday party, Daily Mail wrote. He flew into Brazil two weeks ago for the celebration worth $200,000, another report from the news outlet said.
It was reported that the Jackson patriarch's stroke and multiple heart attacks were caused by his intake of three Viagra pills, which took a physical toll on him, Daily Mail claimed.
According to the news outlet, Jackson was seen dining at an expensive restaurant with a group of ladies, which includes a "voluptuous -- and much younger -- woman," hours after arriving in Brazil. Two days later, he was once again spotted with the "attractive redhead" and other ladies, and was rumored to have stayed out until the wee hours of the morning.
On the following day (July 26), Jackson was feeling ill, allegedly caused by overexertion on his second night out, Daily Mail reported from a local newspaper. He is said to have visited plenty of bars and restaurants, and have mixed the Brazilian cocktail caipirinha with other drinks. Taking Viagra, which is for erectile dysfunction, is said to be the biggest culprit for Jackson's health scare.
Daily Mail also reported from the O Dia tabloid that Jackson was in an area popular for low-rent prostitution when he took the Viagra pills.
However, these claims were all denied by Lisa Crazy, Jackson's PR assistant, and his representative, Charles Coupet. Local sources said that the women with him are part of his entourage as dancers, which "soothe his notoriously explosive temperament -- and nothing else," Daily Mail noted.
