'Red Dead Redemption 2' PC PS4 Xbox One Release Date Rumors: Why Is The Hype So Huge?
A release date for Rockstar Games' "Red Dead Redemption 2" might be coming sooner than fans expected.
Venture Capital Post claimed that the sequel will be revealed at Microsoft's Press Conference scheduled on August 4. WCCF Tech speculated that the game developer will probably push through with the follow-up's release this month after missing last year's E3, given that it's been years since the original title rolled out on May 2010.
Two inside scoops also made its rounds on Reddit from two separate users, Shinobi602 and AnonDN1978, CrossMap wrote. The former claimed that the sequel will be released this year, while the latter contradicted it by saying that the game will launch in 2016 after 3 and ½ years of production, bearing the title "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West."
In addition, AnonDN1978 said that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have two main characters and a customizable one, CrossMap noted.
Movie Pilot also reported about a theory as to what storyline will "Red Dead Redemption 2" revolve around. According to the news outlet, players will be given an option to play as three characters: Irish and Seth from the first game or a brand-new third character. In addition, the sequel will be set 12 years before the events of the original game, which ended with former outlaw John Marston sacrificing himself to save the lives of his wife and Jack's, his young son.
As provided by Movie Pilot, here's the description of Irish and Seth: "Irish will be brought up in Ireland and will move to the Americas when he is fifteen and moves to the game setting when he turns twenty one. Seth is from Kansas City and works as a teller in a bank. He then hears of a treasure and uses his life savings to bring his family to Texas in the town of Tumbleweed. Throughout the story we experience him unraveling to his state of mind in the original game, losing his wife, children, home, and possessions to his treasure."
Aside from these, there are also suspicions that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will feature a grown-up Jack avenging the death of his father, MNR Daily reported.
"Red Dead Redemption," a follow-up to 2004's hit "Red Dead Revolver," is one of the most successful action-adventure games, IGN wrote. Last month, "Red Dead Redemption" bagged one of the topmost positions in Microsoft's backwards compatibility survey, which allowed customers to vote for Xbox 360 games they want to see in the Xbox One, Game Rant noted.
