Microsoft Windows 10 Hitting Xbox One Sooner Than Expected? Get the Details Here!
Xbox One testers are set to experience a new addition to the gaming console's features as Platform Engineering Head Mike Ybarra reveals his plan to have them preview Windows 10 by September, whilst the public rollout has been set for November.
Ybarra took to Twitter to express his intention to make the Windows 10 and Xbox One combo this fall.
He posted, "My goal is Win10 is on Xbox One, with the new UI, for Preview members in September."
His post comes after Tech Radar reported on Microsoft's announcement that the Windows 10 would be hitting the market and made available to all users by November this year.
According to the report, the OS would not be launched not in full form but would be incorporated in a controller which dubbed as the "New Xbox One Experience."
The Verge reported that Windows 10 has been incorporated to the Xbox One dashboard to improve the speed and performance which the report described as something that is "a lot more simplified."
Like in other Windows 10 powered devices, the "New Xbox One Experience" would have the voice command assistant Cortana who would be able to perform even your most complicated orders.
"You can say 'Hey Cortana, record the last minute and share it to my activity feed' and it will publish a game clip straight away," The Verge described.
Cortana would also be able to understand non-literal commands like "Hey Cortana, start a party and invite Amanda." Your Cortana assistant would then start a voice chat with the friend you requested without you having to lift a finger from your console.
Of course, you would need to use your Kinect sensor for you to use Cortana's audio command system.
Having Windows 10 in Xbox One also incorporates a new level of connectivity for gamers especially after the Xbox manufacturer added a new community section.
The community section has an upgraded Activity Feed as well as the Trending on Xbox Live features that track the popular games, TV shows and other content in your community.
The newly added Watch section also gives users easy access to streaming sites and apps like Hulu Plus Netflix, and HBO GO.
In terms of speed, the formerly "slow" switching between various tasks in the old Xbox One dashboard would be greatly improved.
Windows 10 has new features such as search, messages, friends, and notifications that have been designed to provide quick access and make multitasking much easier.
