Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale File for Divorce After 13 Years of Marriage
Musicians Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have officially ended it as the couple file for divorce after spending 13 years of marriage.
Less than a month after news about Blake Shelton's failed marriage broke, his fellow "The Voice" coach and female music artist Stefani has called it quits with her husband of 13 years.
According to a statement cited by TMZ, the couple reportedly made a "mutual decision" to end their marriage.
"While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment," Stefani and Rossdale's joint statement read.
According to E! News, court documents from the couple's divorce case revealed that the No Doubt lead singer and co-founder wanted to end the marriage because of their irreconcilable differences.
While the couple wanted to maintain joint custody of their children, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6 and Apollo, 1, Stefani opted for the termination of Gavin's ability to support her.
E! News recalled past news about the couple which mainly consists of love, happiness and plenty of gushing.
"We go through so much together-it's a miracle that we could stay together this long. [Gavin's] on a short tour right now, and he wrote me the sweetest note this morning," Stefani told Cosmopolitan in the magazine's March issue, adding that she never expected to marry "a guy that hot."
Meanwhile, the Bush lead singer said that he was "lucky" to have Stefani as his wife back in 2013.
"To be with one person for a very long time actually gets more interesting. I'm into that. She's a great girl. I'm lucky," he said during an interview with E! News.
News about Stefani's divorce comes less than a month after her fellow "The Voice" coach and country singer Blake Shelton broke up with his wife, Miranda Lambert, after making music and love for over 10 years, leading some to think that there may be a curse at work in the two events.
A recent report from E! News noted the divorces' eerie timing, particularly after it follows the recent marriage of another "The Voice" coach, Adam Levine.
Divorce curses aside, Stefani would be filling in again for Christina Aguilera to join the Maroon 5 lead vocalist, the country singer and Pharrell Williams for the upcoming ninth season of "The Voice" which debuts this September.
