Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus vs iPhone 6S Plus: Which is Bigger? Release Date, Price & Specs Roundup [Rumors]
The Samsung S6 Edge Plus is now being pitted against the iPhone 6S Plus as the bigger smartphone to enter the market.
But which one would take the title?
A photo rendering of Samsung's upcoming new device has surfaced, and it seems like the next generation of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is a good bet against Apple's iPhone 6S Plus in terms of their sizes.
In a tweet from Evan Blass, dubbed by The Verge as a "prolific phone leaker," the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is shown alongside Note 5 in what is most probably the best first-look of the two devices.
The photo shows the two very similar smartphones with the Galaxy note 5's S-pen and slightly sharper corners as the only way to tell which is which.
The Korean company's enlarged version of the Galaxy S6 Edge, the same device initially dubbed as Project Zero 2, would reportedly sport a significant change in size with its 5.54-inch display, making it a good contender with Apple's iPhone 6S Plus.
The iPhone 6S plus would be a larger version of the iPhone 6S, with a display size of 5.5 inches.
Of course, that is not the only upgrade the next generation Galaxy S6 Edge. It has also been beefed up under the hood with the rumored octa-core Exynos 7420 chip with 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage.
The newest addition to the iPhone family, which BGR said is a "game-changer" for the company, would be run by an A9 processor with 2GB worth of RAM.
In terms of image capture capabilities, Samsung's larger S6 Edge reportedly would have a 16-megapixel rear camera which says would have protruding lenses, and a 5-MP front snapper.
The upgraded and enlarged version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge would also be a good match for Apple's iPhone 6S Plus's own protruding camera, says the Tech Times.
Apple has yet to confirm this, but the French website NowWhereElse revealed photos of the camera rings which would allegedly be used in the phone's rear snapper that would boast a 12MP iSight camera with a 5MP FaceTime front-facing one.
Inside sources told Sam Mobile that the Korean company will be selling the larger Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus at a starting price of $880 upon launch on August 13, while the iPhone 6S Plus has yet to be given a price tag upon its release this coming September.
