Android M Download & Release Date: Nexus 5 (2015) Packing OS, Developer Preview 3 Delayed [News & Rumors]
Google is said to be partnering with LG to release a new Nexus smartphone.
Unveiling the Nexus 5, according to Bidness ETC, is said to be the company's move to compete against Apple and Samsung, which will also launch new mobile devices. With Google set to release Android M this fall in Q3, the news outlet wrote that there's a huge possibility that the OS will be incorporated in the Nexus 5.
The Nexus 5 2015 is said to be a successor of the device with the same name that was launched in 2013, International Business Times noted.
Nexus 5 Specs
According to Bidness ETC, LG codenamed the Nexus 5 2015 model as "Bullhead," a device which will bear a larger, 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The smartphone is also said to have a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front-facing shooter.
It's probable that the Nexus 5 2015 will be powered by the Snapdragon 808. However, if the device's release gets pushed later in 2015 then the handset could be powered by the Snapdragon 820, Bidness ETC added.
Aside from these, the Nexus 5 2015 is rumored to have 2700mAh battery, and is expected to have a price tag under $500, the news outlet claimed.
Much like Bidness ETC, International Business Times wrote that the Nexus 5 2015 will run using Android M. The handset is also said to have a fingerprint sensor.
Android M Developer Preview 3 Delayed?
Android M Developer Preview 3 is expected to be released in July. New reports, however, have been claiming that the Developer Preview is being delayed because Google aims to have a "near final release" for the OS, Phone Arena reported.
The info appeared on the Android M Developer Preview community page on Google+, as revealed by an employee of the company, Phone Arena noted. For now, Google doesn't have a definite launch date for the OS' third Developer Preview.
Android M was first announced by Google on May 28 at the company's annual I/O developer event, Gotta Be Mobile wrote. The OS' release in the fall will reveal its final name as well as a version number, which could be 5.2, Phone Arena noted.
Android M comes with features that are upgrades over the Android 5.1 Lollipop. The new OS is said to have a streamlined interface, enhanced volume controls, individual app permissions, and improved battery life, among others, Phone Arena listed.
Fans should wait for an Android M Developer Preview 3 download. In the meantime, you can download the Previews 1 and 2 here.
