'WWE 2K16' Roster & Gameplay: Hulk Hogan Status, Playable Terminators & More Updates Here
After making racist remarks in a sex tape, Hulk Hogan is not expected to be part of the "WWE 2K16."
"We are highly respectful of the way that our partners choose to run their business and manage our partnerships accordingly. We can confirm that Hulk Hogan will not appear in WWE 2K16," 2K said in a statement quoted by Forbes.
Hulk Hogan's contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has been terminated following the release of a tape recorded years ago where he was heard uttering racist comments.
On Friday, the WWE announced that the professional wrestler has been removed from their WWE website and also taken off from the online Hall of Fame.
"WWE terminated its contract with Terry Bollea (a.k.a. Hulk Hogan). WWE is committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide," a statement from the company read.
In an exclusive report, Radar Online together with the National Enquirer revealed that the wrestling icon made "a filthy bigoted attack, littered with the N-word and other disgusting racial insults."
He reportedly directed all these demeaning words at his daughter Brooke Ellen Bollea, whom he claimed was sleeping with a black man.
To air his side on this issue, Hogan has released a statement to People. magazine, which read: "Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it and I apologize for having done it. This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise."
Forbes said that this decision by the 2K Sports since video game publishers work in close coordination with sports organizations "to ensure the quality of the brand and consistency between products."
Another update on the wrestling video game is the addition of two Arnold Schwarzenegger characters which will be available to those who pre-order the game, according to VG247.
"These are two playable Terminators, the T-800 from the first film, and the one from the sequel - Judgement Day," read the same report.
This announcement is reportedly something that could take the minds of the players from the removal of Hulk Hogan.
Scheduled for released on October 27, "WWE 2K16" is still currently being developed for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Players can, however, preorder the game online for $59.99.
