The Galaxy Tab S2, dubbed as "the most immersive Samsung tablet to-date," would be sporting an ultra-clear Super AMOLED display that the company has optimized for viewing and reading digital content such as e-books, magazines, and websites.
Samsung also confirmed rumors that the Tab S2 will be Samsung's thinnest and lightest tablet ever, which is pegged to be just 5.6mm thin.
According to the announcement, the new Tab S2 would be available in 9.7 and 8.0-inch displays that weigh just about 265 to 389 grams.
Samsung Electronics IT & Mobile Division President and CEO JK Shin boasted about the the Samsung tablet's new features, saying, "The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features."
Shin also described the new Samsung tablet as "the most complete personal visual device" designed for portability and the convenience of its user. It has new connectivity and productivity features, including the preloaded Microsoft Office Solutions app and compatibility to the advanced Book Cover Keyboard similar to the regular PC keyboards.
Samsung also revealed an enhanced manageability feature in the form of a touch-enabled Fingerprint Scanner that allows easy access without compromising security.
But even after factoring in these specs, First Post still said that no Android tablet to be able to compete with the ever-so-popular iPad, despite seeing decline in the sales of Apple's tablet line following its intial introduction to the tablet market.
Deeming iPad Air 2 as the "best tablet so far," the tech outlet is now looking into the possible next generation this flagship device from the iPhone-maker which traditionally releases new devices every fall.
According to ipadair3update.com, a website dedicated to news about the next generation iPad Air, the new medium-sized tablet would be sporting a larger screen matched with a crystal clear 2K resolution amazing 3D display that is pegged at 400ppi.
The iPad Air 2's 8-megapixel rear snapper is also expected to be enhanced as well as its front-facing camera for better video chatting.
It is also rumored to be powered by an A9x chipset matched with 3GB RAM to make multitasking easier and quicker.
All these, however, have yet to be confirmed by Apple.
