Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert Divorce After 4 Years of Marriage - Why?

By Maria Myka| Jul 21, 2015

Country's most glam couple - Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert - are parting ways.

Shelton and Lambert are officially ending their four-year marriage. While this could be a surprise to many, The Daily Mail reported that those who watched the 50th Anniversary Country Music Awards in April already noticed a tumultuous rift in their marriage when Lambert shockingly left Shelton out on her three acceptance speeches for Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year.

The news outlet reported that a judge officially signed off on the former couple's divorce documents that Shelton filed two weeks ago. The proceedings were fast as the couple was said to have a pre-nup stating that she'll be keeping their Nashville home, while he will have their Oklahoma ranch.

When the news went public, Shelton and Lambert released a joint statement saying, "This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

Last year, Life & Style magazine detailed reports on the couple's rocky relationship, claiming that "it's over" between the two. Back then, the outlet cited Lambert's decision to want to have a baby and Shelton's uncontrollable partying to be the source of their marital problems, but the pair laughed it off via their Twitter accounts.

Unfortunately, just a little over a year later, their marriage is over for good.

While there have been no confirmation as to what led to the divorce, a source close to Shelton told PEOPLE magazine that it was definitely not because he strayed.

In fact the source emphasized that the country star has been faithful to his marriage. "Blake is just that incredibly loyal and dedicated husband. I can guarantee you he has been faithful to that woman," the source said.

It still remains unclear what led to the divorce.

It was only in January that Lambert gushed about her husband to Marie Claire, telling the magazine "Blake's the happiest person on the planet...He pulls me out of my darkness....literally, everything is the best about being married."

Shelton's representatives reportedly told Fox that the couple will not be releasing any further statements, whereas Lambert's still hasn't responded to a request for comment.

There should be more to the story than meets the eye - what do you think is the real reason for the couple's divorce?
