'Fifty Shades Darker' Movie Trailer & Release Date: 5 Biggest Plot Spoilers & Theories to Watch For
"Batman v Superman" actor Henry Cavill is set to get steamy as Christian Grey's rival, Jack Hyde in the next "50 Shades"film.
Sure, he looked amazing as Superman, but can he really pull up a good performance in an erotic film?
Melty reported that Cavill himself has dropped hints about being in "50 Shades Darker" but is he going to be the right man to play the part of a maniacally obsessed person, who hires Dakota Johnson's Ana Steele in hopes of seducing her?
Guess fans will have to wait for someone to confirm this rumor before they start obsessing over Cavill as part of the franchise.
Not that anyone has any idea at all what's happening in the next film. Sure, those who read all three of the poorly-written books would know what Ana's been up to, but translating that to film is a different story altogether, as clearly seen in the first installment in the series.
Movie Pilot already asked the most important question: will the second film be more sexually explicit, or will producers water it down to appeal to the masses and to avoid pornographic claims?
There is little that we know about the 2017 film, but here are three more spoilers that have been hinted so far:
1) The film has been reported to be more of a thriller than an erotic romance, with Ana stuck between a domineering sexual partner (Jamie Dornan's Christian Grey) and an obsessive new boss (who could be Cavill's Jack Hyde).
2) There is a very real possibility that Dornan is going to go full frontal in the second film. With a bump on his paycheck, that could be a done deal. (So maybe there could be a reason to watch the film after all.)
3) A report from Movie News Guide suggested that Charlize Theron could also be in the film as Elena Lincoln AKA Mrs. Robinson, Christian's first BDSM partner who introduced him to the world of chains and whips and red rooms.
There is no director attached to the film yet, which could be the reason that it's been pushed further another year, but it's definitely happening. In an interview with El Pais, Dakota Johnson spoke about her excitement to get back on her role, sharing, "I'm not sure I'm allowed to say, but it's happening and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the cast again and the crew... We had such a wonderful family and I mean, obviously it was a bonding experience to shoot this movie."
Shrewd nakedness and all.
