‘Mockingjay Part 2’ Trailer & Release Date: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson & More Reveal 'The Hunger Games' Best Experiences
Three years after the release of the first "Hunger Games" movie, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth are now more than just those young actors --- they have become household names.
And while Jen's Katniss Everdeen had to struggle for three whole films that narrated the war in Panem, it seems that her team of rebel soldiers are finally ready to take down President Snow (played by Donald Sutherland).
With the final movie slated for a November release, Jen, Josh, Willow Shields, and film producer Nina Jacobson graced the Comic Con with their presence in San Diego, where they revealed their favorite and least favorite parts about being in the franchise to The Collider.
Josh mentioned one of his lows was the first ever press tour, where they had to be in seven cities in Europe in seven days. But that the lowest is the final day on set, a sentiment shared by Willow Shields (who plays Katniss's little sister, Prim), and Nina Jacobson.
For Jen, it was all the train scenes set in Atlanta, where the shots were grueling.
For their favorite parts, or the highs as Collider called it, Jen mentioned a moment with Josh surpirsing her as she was watching one of his more emotional scenes.
For Shields, the first premiere was top of her list. Josh and Jen also shared their "high" being their shooting in Hawaii, because who wouldn't want to spend time at the tropics with friends, right?
Liam wasn't present at the Comic Con, but E! News reported that Jen has been spending a lot of time with her co-star and just came to an outing with his family, even getting a tattoo with the rest of them.
She spoke about her ink, ""You know, I call this tattoo a watered-down rebellion because it's not like a real tattoo. It's just like, I was with Liam's family and everybody was getting tattoos and I was like, well, I'm always going to need to be hydrated, so I guess I should just get an H2O on my hand."
Except that her H20 was all wrong. She admitted that she made a mistake when she had the ink done, beating the HitFix reporter by pointing out, "By the way, I know that the two is high and H2O the two is supposed to be low. I should've Googled it before I got it tattooed on my body forever."
Another high for the cast should be the current status of their film. As far as excitement goes, The Mary Sue website said that despite "Batman v Superman" and "Star Wars" being iconic films, "Mockingjay Part 2 " just drowned them out in a slide of tweets.
Deadline reported that following the events on Comic Con Twitter analyzed the tweets from the weekend and results showed that :Mockingjay Part 2" was the most talked-about film, with "Batman v Superman" and "Star Wars" coming in for second and third place.
While this is not a big deal for many, Mary Sue noted that this is good for the fact that female-lead films are getting talked about, and may open the doors for more female-led films in the future.
Maybe.
