Apple iOS 8.4.1 Download & Features: Here's What to Expect From The Mysterious Beta Build
Surprise! Apple has released an update to their current operating system just two weeks after the launch of the iOS 8.4 alongside the Apple Music service without any description whatsoever on what the update does.
Apple developers are treated to a new and 'mysterious' operating system dubbed as the iOS 8.4.1 which, says Mac Rumors, will most likely be the last significant update to the iOS 8.
Though Apple did not say anything about this surprise release, the website speculates that it would most probably include some performance enhancements, bug fixes, and minor changes in the operating system -much like that of the other betas made available to users in the past.
Forbes is speculating that this pre-release version update would also include a disabling function for some of the most popular jailbreaks to the smart devices like TaiG based on the company's history on these kinds of mystery releases.
According to the outlet, these functions are usually hidden under the release notes' "Bug Fixes" and/or "General Performance and Stability Improvements" labels.
Unfortunately, the release seemed to be lacking such notes.
What is more interesting and mysterious about this update is that it should not have existed at all.particularly
The iPhone-maker has already announced that the limitations in the current iOS 8.4, including but not limited to the missing Home Sharing function, would soon be addressed in the new iOS 9 set to be launched this fall.
The update, which had been dubbed build number 12H304, it is now available at the Apple Developer Center for beta testers and developers only.
Meanwhile, 9to5mac.com revealed that this is not the only software beta that Apple unveiled recently.
According to the website, the company has made available an update to the OS X Yosemite under the name OS X 10.10.5 with build number 14F6A to all iPhone, iPod, and iPad users.
The report indicates that the new point update would focus on fixing some networking issues and enhancing the device's security and stability.
A beta version of the iOS 9, which includes updates and bug fixes, was also revealed last week, a July 8 report from 9to5mac.com stated.
This update reportedly would incorporate some "under-the-hood fixes," new apps like a Proactive search, new Notes application and, Transit in Apple Maps, as well as never-before-seen features of the iPad that hints at the looming launch of the iPad Pro which would sport a bigger screen.
