EA 'Rory McIlroy PGA Tour' 2015 PS4 Xbox One Review: Trailer, Gameplay, Features, Tips & More
With the recent release of the EA Sports's "Rory McIlroy PGA Tour" on the Xbox One and Playstation 4, gamers were very much excited in playing the game.
"Rory McIlroy PGA Tour" is EA's first golf title in two years.
PGA Tour reported that this is the first sports title which used the Frostbite 3 engine, making each course in the game "alive with region-specific wildlife roaming the fairways and lurking in the water hazards."
It added that the visuals of the game are really great and stunning, providing better gameplay experience to the players.
"The game boasts a dozen TOUR pros and as many courses," PGA Tour reported. "Among those joining McIlroy in the game are Jordan Spieth, Martin Kaymer, Rickie Fowler and Miguel Angel Jimenez. TPC Sawgrass highlights a course selection that includes Chambers Bay, St. Andrews, Whistling Straits and a quartet of EA-created courses."
In a review, IGN indicated that various changes made in the game ended up in a "disappointing release" that barely made the cut.
The technology site explained that the game had a strong start with the introduction of its new control systems like "a classic 'three-click' swing timer, and two variants on the more contemporary analogue thumbstick-based setup."
But it said the exciting opening did not last long as the game slowly revealed that it lacked in terms of features.
"Considering the two year wait for a game that is only being released on current gen hardware, the rampant slash and burn of its feature set is particularly galling," IGN highlighted.
The Guardian said that the game offers customisable swing types for those players who are looking for elements to make the game easier to play.
It added that there are also varied challenges that one can experience.
"You can create your own PGA pro and find out exactly what it's like to grind out 72 holes of golf on a week-by-week basis, or just play the key holes in a round," The Guardian reported.
There is also a Nightclub feature which has 170 new challenges and special bonuses for the gamers.
The same report also explained that long-term fans are still looking for more career and online tournament options. They may still have to wait to get all the packages and courses that the game has to offer.
To better enjoy this newest offering, Mashable suggested that players should pick the right swing for them to suit their gameplay.
It also said that placing the shot is as important as hitting the ball. "Regardless of which swing mechanic you choose, it's possible to change the angle of your shot, which impacts how the ball behaves when it's in the air or on the ground," Mashable explained.
Players are also encouraged to practice their swings to avoid having trouble during the game.
