Despite reports that the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL will not arrive this year, the two handsets promise that they will give a worthy mobile experience to their users, especially with a high-end camera feature.

Yibada explained that after Microsoft acquired Nokia, it is now faced with the challenge of purging about 8,000 employees very soon because of business challenges.

"The shake-up in the top level position prompted a change of heart and Microsoft will no longer focus on making smartphones," explained the same report.

The company will reportedly focus on its mobile operating system and develop more Windows Phone applications to level other devices running on iOS and Android OS.

It was also revealed in the Yibada report that Microsoft will keep up with Nokia's identity to make high-end camera, with the Lumia 940 XL expected to have a 20 megapixel rear camera.

BidnessEtc reported that the Lumia 940 XL's front-facing shooter will be 5MP.

"The next-gen Windows mobile will house a mostly-metal body and a slimmer form-factor. Under-the-hood, specifications include a 5.7-inch display, 2560 x 1440 QHD resolution," the report said.

The device is also expected to run on Windows 10 Mobile and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and an octa-core processor with a 16 GB of internal storage and 1.5 GB of RAM.

There are still no price estimates for the Lumia 940 XL, but it is expected to cost higher than previous releases.

On the other hand, the Lumia 940 is rumoured to have 5.2-inch Quad HD display, according to the International Business Times. It will reportedly run on a 64-bit hexacore Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.

The Lumia 940 is also believed to feature a 20MP Pureview main camera and 5MP front-facing shooter best for selfies and video conversations. The handset is also claimed to cost higher than its predecessor which was pegged at $736.

PhonesReview said that that the new Lumia 940 will have 5mm edges and a thickness of 8.5mm.

"It's a fairly narrow handset that has an amount of curvature, and there's a rectangular camera area on the reverse that looks to have glass protection," PhonesReview reported. "To the bottom of the rear casing there's a speaker, and it seems to have a metal frame, although the whole casing could possibly be metallic."

The Lumia device will also reportedly have the usual Windows Phone capacitive buttons but will come with a nano sim card slot and USB Type C connector.

Considering all these high-end features, both these Lumia products will surely hit the market by storm hopefully by next year. For now, fans are definitely excited to get hold of the devices.
