'Wonder Woman' Gal Gadot Opens Up on Movie Casting! First Look, Spoilers & More Details Here
Gal Gadot talked about her casting as Wonder Woman at the San Diego Comic-Con "Women Who Kick Ass" panel organized by Entertainment Weekly.
The convention's "Kick Ass" panel was also attended by other actresses such as Jenna Coleman of "Doctor Who," Kathy Bates of "American Horror Story," Gwendoline Christie of "Game of Thrones," and Hayley Atwell of "Agent Carter," Times of Israel reported.
Gadot, who hails from Israel, talked about seeing and donning the Wonder Woman costume for the first time.
"It was like an out of body experience because there was this little girl from Israel becoming Wonder Woman. I love the way they made the costume look, and I think it really represents the Wonder Woman of today. I'm very, very grateful to be the one to bring her to life," the 30-year-old actress said, as quoted by IGN.
Gadot also revealed how she didn't know what role she was trying out for at the beginning of the audition process for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which will mark the first time that Gadot's Wonder Woman will be brought to life in the big screen.
"Two years ago, I was in Los Angeles and they told me that Warner Bros. wanted me to audition for something. I didn't know what it was, but I did an audition," the actress recalled, as reported by IGN.
She continued, "I got back to Israel and everything was great, and then Zack Snyder called and said 'We're going to need you for a camera test.' He asked, 'Do you know what you're testing for? Do you have Wonder Woman in Israel?' My jaw dropped. And then I tried to play it cool and say, 'Yeah, of course!"
SDCC's Warner Bros. panel revealed the latest trailer for "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, and Amy Adams as Batman, Superman, and Lois Lane, respectively, Cinema Blend reported.
The video gave fans a peek into Gadot's Wonder Woman, both in and out of her costume. At one point, the heroine's alter-ego, Diana Prince, was featured wearing a sexy red dress. One scene also showcased Wonder Woman in a fight scene letting out a huge power surge.
Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor was also shown in the trailer. Watch the clip below.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is slated to premiere in theaters on March 25, 2016. A solo movie for Wonder Woman is scheduled to come out in the summer of 2017.
