Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 vs Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet: Which is Better? Price, Specs & Features Review
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 9.7 and the Sony Xperia Z4 are two of the biggest tablet competitors in the tablet market today.
But many of the public are still curious on what these two devices can offer its users.
Below is a detailed comparison of the features of the two tablets:
Design
Android Authority said the Samsung device will maintain a plastic build, a matte-finish back and a silver display frame. It also noted that the phone has a physical home button on the front, microSD card on the left and the volume keys on the right.
"The speakers are also found on the bottom, with the larger Galaxy Tab A 9.7 featuring a dual stereo speaker setup, compared to the single speaker of its smaller sibling," added Android Authority.
Meanwhile, the Sony Xperia Z4 has a useful USB port unlike its predecessors, as per The Verge. The tablet is also said to be waterproof giving it an edge among other similar devices in the market.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 has a TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 768. On the other hand, the Xperia Z4 is said to have a 2560 x 1600 display resolution.
Processor
The Samsung tablet reportedly comes with a 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor. It also has 2GB of RAM.
It was also noted by The Verge that the Sony device is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor which replaced the earlier 801. But the same report noted the upgrade seemed to have not helped the device at all.
"The new processor and higher-res screen may, in fact, have led to something of a downgrade as I found myself disappointed by the Z4 Tablet's battery life. The actual battery is no smaller (6,000mAh) than in the Xperia Z2 Tablet, but I'm having to recharge the newer device more often. I have to top up the Z4's charge every couple of days, whether I use it or not," explained The Verge.
Camera
Tablet PC Review has learned the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is equipped with a 5MP camera and a 2MP front-facing shooter, which is primarily utilised for Skype calls and selfies.
According to MoneyWeb, the Xperia device has an 8.1 megapixel rear camera and a 5MP front shooter.
Price
The Galaxy Tab A 9.7 is pegged at $299, while its Xperia rival has a price tag of $899 — a few hundred dollars pricier than the Samsung counterpart.
