Call of Duty Ghosts News: Gameplay DLC Turns Dogs Into Wolves, Release Date Dec. 12
Call of Duty: Ghosts players will now be able to buy a special piece of DLC that may not change the way the game is played, but will add a unique twist to one of the most popular features in the game. Infinity Ward has released a new DLC option that will allow you to change the dog available in multiplayer into a wolf, making takedowns feel feel a bit more like Game of Thrones rather than Call of Duty.
Infinity Ward announced the DLC through Instagram, and it is the first DLC available in the game. The developer also released a short video showing off the wolf skin in action as well as this brief message about the DLC:
"Lead your pack to victory. Get The Wolf, a custom #CODGhosts Guard Dog Killstreak skin from 12/12 on Xbox for $1.99 USD"
As the message implies, Xbox consoles are the first to receive this DLC, meaning PlayStation 3 and 4 owners as well as PC players will have to wait a bit before being able to trade in their German Sheppard for a Wolf. Usually, these platforms receive DLC for Call of Duty 30 days after it appears on Xbox consoles, so that should be the case with this first small piece of DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
It is impressive to see the Wolf takedown in action, and seeing the feral creature in action is much different than seeing a highly trained military dog in the game. The new DLC looks pretty interesting, and is a good aesthetic DLC offered at a low price that should appeal to thousands of gamers.
It is unsurprising that the first piece of DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts centers around the dog in the game. When the game was first revealed, Riley, the dog found in the single-player portion of the game, quickly took the Internet by storm and became a focal point for both critics and fans of the game.
Call of Duty: Ghosts was released on Nov. 5, and the game was a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when both consoles were released. The game has been one of the biggest hits of the fall, and in particular the game has been a popular title with early adopters of the next-gen consoles.
