Demi Lovato has officially unveiled her latest song titled "Cool For the Summer" and it didn't disappoint with the pop singer's fans.
The track, which was released on Wednesday, reached the top of the iTunes chart in just a few hours, placing at the number one spot in Brazil and Ecuador, PopSugar reported.
In a Manhattan rooftop pool party with her fans hosted by New York's Z100 (WHTZ-FM), the 22-year-old recording artist performed the song live for the first time and even jumped into a pool to embody the track's message, Billboard wrote.

The fan event at the Gansevoort Park Avenue hotel provided Lovato's supporters a chance to take selfies with the singer, Billboard noted. After the former Disney star jumped into the pool, fans headed inside of the hotel for a meet-and-greet with Lovato. She is also set to appear in more fan events across the U.S. later this week.
"Cool for the Summer" is Lovato's first release under Safehouse Records, her joint venture with Nick Jonas and Phil McIntyre, Music Times wrote. The song is produced by Max Martin and Wolf Cousins, Billboard added.
ET Online reported that some fans think that "Cool for the Summer" is a ripoff of Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" and Jessie J's "Domino." Lovato defended her new song on Twitter, writing, "Sounds nothing like it and with all the advances we've made in the LGBT community, I think more than one female artist can kiss a girl and like it."
According to E! News, Lovato's new track will be included in her fifth studio album. Last February, Lovato revealed that her upcoming songs will be her "best work yet" and will showcase "game changing music." She also said that the record will be "authentic" and will represent who she really is and the voice she has inside.
Back in February, Lovato declared, "It's time to share my lane... MY SOUND. Because no one can take away my individuality or copy my best work which my fans deserve to see. I'm sorry it took so long to figure out my channel but it's here. The changes I've made. It's a new journey... A new chapter in MY life and I'm so f*cking ready."
"I WILL get a Grammy nomination one day. No more f*ckin around. Let's GO!!!!!" Lovato concluded.
Aside from her music, the songstress is also working on a Lovato-centric mobile game from developer Pocket Games. Fans of the artist will get to see Lovato's acting chops in Sony Pictures' Animation's "Get Smurfy" reboot alongside Mandy Patinkin and Rainn Wilson.
