Jack Ü's "Where Are Ü Now" music video featuring Justin Bieber came with a lot of controversies involving the Canadian singer's past romance with Selena Gomez.

Several reports have been claiming that the music video have shout-outs to the "Good for You" songstress. The music video showcased Bieber expressing grief over the loss of a loved one in the midst of wonderful pieces of art and graffiti. Inquisitr wrote that the images featured in the clip were a contribution from fans and up-and-coming artists during sessions at a Los Angeles gallery.

One frame in the music video had the words "Where R Now, Selena" written on it beside Bieber, Inquisitr noted. Another point showed a fan-created message with a crossed out "Jelena 5ever" with the words, "I want you to know" scrawled above, Digital Journal pointed out. The latter appeared to refer to Gomez's track collaboration with DJ Zedd.

The former Disney star has confirmed that she had something special with Zedd, Gossip Cop reported. This is despite the Diplo's claims saying that the short-lived romance between the two was a marketing strategy to promote Zedd's latest album, "True Colors."

The third reference to Gomez comes in the form of a speech bubble emerging from Bieber's mouth. The art is bearing the words, "I miss you, Selena!!"

Hollywood Life has reported that upon reaching out to Bieber, the singer's reps denied that the music video was directed at Gomez, and that the images in the clip are just fan arts and are not messages from the "Baby" hitmaker.

Accompanying the YouTube upload of the music video was a message from Jack Ü, which says that the video was "an ode" to their fans. The EDM artists made no clarification that the music video was for Bieber's former flame.

Jack Ü added, "Justin wrote this record during a tough time in his life and it comes to us that sometimes, as artists, we are also just objects and we have to take that as much as we have to use that to create. We all do this for you, respect that you put us here and it's Ü that made the video."

Selena Ignoring Justin?

Following the buzz surrounding the music video, Page Six has claimed that Gomez ignored Bieber at a West Hollywood private party that the ex-couple attended.

The party was a celebration of Tori Kelly's new album and was hosted by Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun. Page Six's source said that Gomez and Bieber saw each other but "didn't engage whatsoever."

The "Hotel Transylvania 2" actress surrounded herself with close friends, including Ed Sheeran, Cody Simpson, Ashley Benson, and Meghan Trainor, Page Six listed.
