iPhone 6S Release Date: iOS 9 Device to Break iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Record Sales? Specs, Features & Price Here [Rumors]
Survey says iPhone 6S could beat iPhone 6 and 6 Plus record-breaking sales because of Apple's plans to include better features and for tapping Samsung for internal memory chips to power the device.
Apple has made it a tradition to introduce new devices every year that would outsell its predecessor. However, many are currently having second thoughts about this since the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus became a huge hit after featuring bigger screens, which had been limited to Android devices in the past.
But according to a report from Mac Rumors, this Apple tradition would still continue, especially after an RBC Capital Markets survey showed how more consumers expressed their intention on buying a new smartphone from the company before the year ends.
"While there has been concern regarding AAPL going ex-growth in Dec-Qtr, our survey work shows carrier contracts are the bigger driver for refresh cycles, implying 6s cycle should be positive given contract renewals and sustained expansion of 4G networking in China," RBC Capital Markets survey stated.
Among the 6,000 individuals who responded to the survey, most are still loyal to the iPhone-maker when it comes to their smartphone needs, which is directly translated to higher revenue for the company as 83.4 percent of present iPhone users plan to stay with the company in the near future.
However, the survey also found that new iPad breeds would not experience the same positive feedback and are expected to disappoint further by the end of June.
According to Computer World, the new iPhones which would reportedly be called the iPhone 6S is expected to have the rumored Force Touch feature.
Aside from that, the company is also expected to order more chips from Samsung for the next generation iPhones.
"As Apple plans to increase its shipments of the mid-range iPhone models with larger capacities amid growing consumer demand for data-intensive features, including cloud services, Samsung Electronics is in talks to sell more of its flash chips for the next models," a source told Korea Times.
According to the report, Apple's chips were previously supplied by huge electronic companies like SanDisk, SK Hynix and Toshiba simply because theyare much cheaper than Samsung's initial offer.
Since the Korean tech firm is looking for more revenue from their NAND chips, it should be expected that its management would come into an agreement with Apple when it comes to the pricing.
However, not all iPhone patrons are happy with this news considering that Samsung is a big competition in the smartphone industry.
Inquisitr even found it "quite ironic" that the iPhone would be carrying parts from the maker of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which are currently considered iPhone's biggest competitors.
