Marvel President Kevin Feige Reveals Possible 'Origins' Movie for Some Superheroes
Marvel President Kevin Feige gives more hints about upcoming movies set at the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he cues in a possible 'origins' flick about some heroes in the popular fantasy world.
In an interview with io9.com, Feige revealed that while most flicks set in the MCU would follow a chronological order, some of them may be set in the past.
"Certainly we could [set another one in the past]. There are no rules. I think the majority of them will be chronological, but not all of them necessarily," Feige said.
Though his statement does not represent a definite plan yet, this goes to show that the Marvel production is considering making origin movies about some of its superheroes set in the past MCU, like "Captain America: The First Avenger."
The website believes that one of these heroes may be the super weird Doctor Strange, who was already introduced in the MCU in the second Captain America solo flick "The Winter Soldier."
Io9.com is also seeing a possible origin story for Black Panther because there is a huge possibility that he would be presented in a solo flick as Wakanda's long-time ruler, following his introduction in "Captain America: The Civil War."
Meanwhile, Cinema Blend believes that if there would be Marvel heroes entering the MCU outside its current timeline, it would be the Inhumans.
Though their solo film has yet to hit theaters in July 2019, the Inhumans are gradually becoming familiar to Marvel fanatics after a couple of them had been featured in the second season of Fox's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
In the show, one of the main characters named Skye, played by Chloe Bennet, was exposed to a gaseous substance produced by Terrigen Crystals known as the Terrigen Mist.
According to the MCU Wiki, Inhumans exposed to the Terrigen Mist are encased in a rocky cocoon while they undergo a process called "Terrigenesis," thereby developing superhuman capabilities.
This mist, says Cinema Blend, awakens Skye's Inhuman cells, leaving her with a superpower to conjure earthquakes. She then meets more of her kind and learns how they came to be.
The sophomore season of the TV show seemed to reveal part of the Inhuman's origins: from experimentations conducted by the Kree thousands of years in the past.
The website believes that though the Inhumans have futuristic capabilities, they are still the perfect candidates for an origin story particularly because they have a rich past and are "visually appealing."
Not only that, the origins of Inhumans also present "a breather" to Marvel fans after getting worked up in the conclusive battle between The Avengers and Thanos in the "Avengers: Infinity War Part II."
But again, these are all mere speculations from the presented information to keep Marvel fans wanting for more. Nothing is final as of late.
