'Sense8' Netflix Season 2 Plot Theories & Season 1 Reviews: Why Whole Series Could Be Worth Watching
The slow turn of events of Netflix series, "Sense8," is made to have a full-season recap, and it seems that it will take a while before the series comes into focus. The 12-episode series, while dragging in many parts, is also ambitious and thrilling, and is powerful in its themes, as reviewed by Entertainment Weekly.
The show centers around eight different types of people spread across the world, and joined together in an adventure that allows them to share their knowledge and experience with each other, as they seem to be defined mainly by the locations from which they are from.
While EW has been generous of its review, Variety noted that the show is hoping to make somewhat of a "Matrix" type series, but "Sense8" ended up as something that resembles "Jupiter Ascending" and "Cloud Atlas" in its form, describing it as "A dense sci-fi construct that's poorly explained through three episodes," also adding that "the main problem, simply, is that the show doesn't make much sense."
Despite unfavorable reviews, star Daryl Hannah is quick to defend the series, noting that it is definitely worth watching as the show will eventually expand the minds of its viewers, she said in an interview with The Guardian.
A series evaluation of 68% with 5.8/10 rating also came from Rotten Tomatoes, saying that some of the scenes "border on illogical," and is saved by diverse characters and their connections.
However, with the season all wrapped up, there are a few questions and theories that should happen in the second season, some of which EW already threw out there, like, Will Kala and Wolfgang's relationship prosper? Could Jonas be conspiring with the Whisperers? There are rumors that for season 2, the Whispers will likely be a bigger presence in the show. Finally, will the show uncover more of Angel?
Whether or not a second season will take place is still unconfirmed. However, considering the mixed reviews regarding the show, there could be a chance that it won't see another season, although Daryl Hannah is confident that the project helmed by the Wachowski siblings could eventually grasp at the heartstrings of its audience as it will all make sense past the first season.
What do you think will happen to "Sense8"? Could it land another season, or is it too dragging and "out there" for the fans to want to wait for the real story to begin?
