Antonio Banderas & Melanie Griffith's Los Angeles Mansion Sold for $16 Million
Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith's Los Angeles marital home has been sold for $15.95 million from a $16.1 million original listing.
According to a report from Stuff, the former couple combined two properties to build the 0.6-hectare mansion. The site's name from its first owner was Isidor Eisner Estate, which was designed by Hoover Dam architect Gordon B. Kaufmann.
Banderas, 54, and Griffith, 57, purchased the main property in 1999 for $4.2 million and spent $1.3 million in 2000 for the adjacent lot, Stuff noted.
Containing 13 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, the three-story Italian Revival-style mansion features hand-stenciled coffered ceilings, vaulted beams, and wood-paneled ceilings, Stuff listed. The grand home also has a two-storey banquet hall and kitchen, as well as a paneled library, recording studio, gym, elevator, four fireplaces, and multiple balconies offering great views.
Aside from these, the luxurious abode also has a courtyard swimming pool, expansive lawns, a stone driveway, and a rose and vegetable garden, the news outlet added.
The estranged couple announced news of their separation in June 2014 after 18 years of marriage. In the statement issued by the pair, they said that they "thoughtfully" and "consensually" ended their marriage in a "loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other" and "the beautiful time" they have spent together, Fox News Latino reported.
The ex-couple first met in 1995 during the filming of their movie "Too Much," PEOPLE wrote. The duo is parents to 18-year-old daughter Stella, who's currently studying at the prestigious New York University, Daily Mail noted.
Despite the separation, Banderas and Griffith still made it a point to come together for their only daughter. A separate report from PEOPLE featured the former couple reuniting for Stella's high school graduation earlier this month.
To mark the momentous event, Griffith posted a snapshot of the three of them on her Instagram page, captioning it: "Mama, Stella and Papi. Our angel is amazing. Beginning the next chapter of her life! Freedom!!"
Another photo was of Griffith and Stella hugging each other. The actress' heart-shaped tattoo with the word Antonio written on it was seen in the picture. The ink on Griffith's arm is in the process of laser removal.
Griffith's mother, Tippi Hendren, and other children, "Fifty Shades of Grey" star Dakota Johnson and Alexander Bauer, also attended the celebration, PEOPLE noted.
Banderas is now dating Dutch investment consultant Nicole Kimpel, Fox News Latino wrote.
"She is shy and doesn't have anything to do with my work, which is no bad thing," the Spanish actor said of Kimpel, as reported by The Olive Press.
