Jessica Alba Obsessed With Salt & Hot Sauce? 'Entourage' Star Explains Food Preferences
Jessica Alba has talked about her slightly unusual eating habits in a recent interview.
Talking to Delish about her food preferences, the "Sin City" actress confessed that the most unexpected food in her fridge is "five or six different types" of hot sauce. According to Alba, she is crazy for "anything habanero-Caribbean-flavored," as well as spicy buffalo wing sauce, Tabasco, sriracha, and Cholula, the news outlet added.
Alba, who is married to Cash Warren, is mother to two girls, Honor, 7, and Haven, 3. When asked if she's guilty of loving desserts, Alba said that she is "not much of a sweets person," Delish noted. In fact, she has a large intake of salt due to a blood problem.
"I actually have low blood sugar and low blood pressure, and I get very woozy if I don't have enough salt," the 34-year-old actress/businesswoman told Delish. "When I do hot yoga, water isn't enough. I need to have salty water or I'll have coconut water."
Alba continued, "I told my doctor I eat an abnormal amount of salt, and he said, 'Did you know it's because you're naturally low? Your body overcompensates and needs more salt,' so that's how I justify all the salt I pour on everything."
The founder of The Honest Company also said that she adds a pinch of pink Himalayan salt to water, Delish noted. As for her top guilty-pleasure snack, Alba shared that she loves eating tacos with homemade black beans and jalapeno-almond cheese as her favorite toppings. She also eats kale salad, and even gave a tip that massaging the vegetable with the dressing "makes all the difference in the world," the news outlet reported.
"I try to always have a salad, and I always make my own salad dressing-it just tastes better," Alba further explained of her appetite, as quoted by Delish. "I'll often make a chicken quesadilla with corn tortillas-and gallons of hot sauce. Literally. It's like I'm trying to burn a hole through my stomach. It's so good. It's such a problem."
Alba, who has appeared in FHM and Maxim magazine's sexiest women of all time lists, stressed out that staying hydrated is important for the body, PopSugar wrote. In the June issue of Shape magazine, she admitted that "working out sucks," but she regularly attends gym classes to keep herself motivated and maintain her slim figure.
"These days, I do power yoga with light weights in a 105-degree room, so it's a mix of hot yoga and strength training. I also spin," Alba told Shape magazine. "The key for me is good music, like 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Jay-Z, BeyonceÌ."
Alba's The Honest Company, which is known for its eco-friendly baby and household products, will now roll out a new line of cosmetics this fall, Daily Mail wrote. As expected, the beauty products will contain safe, environment-friendly, and sustainable contents that the actress vocally approves of.
