'Hawaii Five-0' Season 4 Episode 10 Spoilers: 'Five-0' Pays Tribute to Pearl Harbor Attack
The next episode of "Hawaii Five-0" will pay tribute to those who lost their lives on "the day which will live in infamy."
On Dec. 7, 1941, the attack on the U.S. Naval Base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii shocked the nation and dragged the U.S. into World War II. The day is honored every year with commemorative parades, memorials and wreath-layings to honor the brave military men and civilians who lost their lives on that tragic day.
"Hawaii Five-0" will honor the 72nd anniversary of the day, which recently passed, by airing an episode that focuses on the Pearl Harbor attack.
The episode, "Ho' onani Makuakane," or "Honor Thy Father" in Hawaiian, will focus on the attempted murder of a Pearl Harbor veteran, which leads the Five-0 team to use decades old evidence to investigate a fatal crime committed within the Japanese internment camps that were on Oahu during WWII.
Actual WWII veterans were used as extras in the filming of the remembrance ceremony at the Battleship Missouri Memorial, which appears in the episode. Scenes were filmed at both the Battleship Missouri Memorial and the USS Arizona Memorial.
Flashbacks from McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) father will also tell the story of when Pearl Harbor was attacked.
The last episode also featured McGarrett's family. The Thanksgiving episode of "Hawaii Five-0" focused on the visit of McGarrett's Aunt Deb (Carol Burnett), who came to visit to tell her family that she has a fatal cancer diagnosis.
Meanwhile, the case of the week focused on a Secret Service agent who was murdered. It turns out that he was murdered by an assassin who was hired by the Albanian Crime Syndicate. The real target was Andrea, the agent's daughter, who witnessed the murder of a high ranking member of the crime family. The Five-0 team rescued the daughter and her mother just as they were about to be murdered by the assassin.
In other "Five-0" news, Robert Knepper will appear as Internal Affairs Detective Rex Coughlin in this season's 13th episode.
"Honor Thy Father" airs Friday, Dec. 13 at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
