Eva Mendes Reveals Beauty Secrets in First Facebook Q&A! Get Her Tips Here
If you are wondering how Eva Mendes maintains her beauty, the actress' latest Q&A session on Facebook can answer some of your questions.
The mother of Ryan Gosling's baby daughter, Esmeralda, spilled her beauty secrets and regimens last Wednesday in her first ever Facebook Q&A. We picked a few highlights of Mendes' beauty routines below.
The 41-year-old actress doesn't really believe in strict diets, encouraging her fans that "eating anything you want as long as it's in moderation is good." For her workouts, Mendes shared that she doesn't visit the gym every day, and instead does "cardio and light weights at least three times a week."
She also believes that staying hydrated is important in maintaining healthy skin.
"Drinking warm water and lemon every morning before my coffee and staying hydrated all day long really helps me stay healthy and helps my skin look its best," the star of "The Place Beyond the Pines" wrote on Facebook.
Mendes revealed that using witch hazel helps her manage her oily skin, while dry shampoo is perfect for her oil hair. When she doesn't have dry shampoo, she uses baby powder as replacement.
When it comes to making her makeup stay longer on her face, the actress wrote on Facebook, "Believe it or not, after I've applied my makeup, if I really want it to stay all day, I run the hot shower for a minute and I let the steam settle my makeup. I know it sounds weird but it works for me!"
For removing her makeup, the brunette beauty shared that she uses coconut oil on a damp washcloth, and even applies it on her hair and body, she wrote on Facebook.
Mendes also didn't pass up on giving blush tips which she got from her mother.
"When applying blush or rouge of any kind, don't skip your nose. Make sure you apply it a little bit across your nose as well. It makes for a more natural, sun-kissed look," she revealed, as quoted by E! News. The "Hitch" actress said that she uses a blush called Portofino from her own CIRCA Beauty line.
Mendes said that she uses St. Ives Apricot Scrub for her body and Oueen Helene products for her skin, ABC News reported. Aside from these, she also shared fashion tips, saying that Sophia Loren, Monica Vitti, Gina Lollobrigida, and Claudia Cardinale influenced her own clothing line for New York & Company. She also appreciates the fashion styles of Salma Hayek and Amber Heard.
When it comes to fashion, Mendes insisted that women don't necessarily have to spend lots of money to achieve the look they want.
"Any time I go to a new place I always check out their Salvation Army and Goodwill. It's so fun. You have to be patient but it's always worth it!" she wrote, as quoted by ABC News. "There's nothing more fun for me than putting my own modern twist on a vintage look."
