Eva Longoria in Svedka Summer Fiesta: 'Devious Maids' Producer Reveals Where She Would Be Without Hollywood
Eva Longoria is known for her acting credits in several TV shows and films, but the actress also dabbles behind-the-scenes. With Longoria's work as a producer for NBC's "Hot and Bothered, "Lifetime's "Devious Maids," and the documentary "Food Chains," one might wonder where she would be if she was not involved in the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the brunette beauty revealed the one trade she would like to work in aside from show business.
"I would definitely be in corporate America," Longoria told PEOPLE at Tuesday's Svedka Summer Fiesta Celebration held in Beverly Hills, California. "I love business."
According to the 40-year-old actress/producer, she enjoys "using her brain" and takes pleasure in producing TV projects because she likes the "business side of the industry," the news outlet reported.
Longoria continued, "I love quotas and budgets, and I like barometers of success. I like measurements of success. Tell me what to do, and I will exceed it."
She was joined by singers Cher Lloyd and Sophie Monk at the recent launch of the Svedka Vodka Grapefruit Jalapeno Summer Fiesta in LA, Daily Mail wrote.
At the 7th annual Produced By L.A. conference held in May, Longoria was asked whether she had a hard time being taken seriously working behind-the-scenes, given that she is an attractive woman and has acted in numerous projects. Longoria, however, explained that she asserts herself when it comes to working in the production industry to make people see that she is not "just an actress," Variety wrote.
"I've always been a producer and I've always been a director who happened to fall into acting," she shared, as quoted by Variety.
Last month, Longoria also graced the Cannes Film Festival with her appearance and then headed to Paris to support a Global Gift Gala event. After that, she went to Mexico together with her boyfriend, José Antonio Baston, who is the president of media company Televisa, the news outlet added.
Longoria has been dating Baston since 2013, a separate report from PEOPLE noted. At the Eva Longoria Home Collection launch for JCPenney in Los Angeles last April, the TV star opened up about her job and her relationship with the Mexican businessman.
"I'm just in a happy place in my life that it's easy to be open and in love because I am in a complete place in my life," she explained to the news outlet. "Whether it's personally, career, new projects, going back to television, there's just so much happiness and joy in my life and I think you know that transmits to everything."
