Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date in July? How Windows 10 Device May Differ From the Surface Hub [Rumors]
Rumors and speculations continue to circle around Microsoft's Surface Pro 4. Aside from its specs, reports are also claiming about an impending release date for the device.
Listed below are the latest rumors and speculations about the Surface Pro 4. These are all unconfirmed at the moment and Microsoft is yet to issue an official announcement.
Processor & OS
Yibada claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will be powered by the Intel Core M Broadwell chip, which could allow a fan-less and silent operation capable of reducing noise. However, there are also saying that the hybrid device will have the Skylake chipset.
As for its operating system, it is expected that the Surface Pro 4 will run using Windows 10. If this rumor is true, then it's safe to say that the company is aiming for a bigger release of their latest product than they did last year, the news outlet added.
Display & Other Features
Yibada claimed that the Surface Pro 4 will come in bearing a 12-inch display with 2160 x 1440 pixels of resolution and will have a 4K screen display.
According to the news outlet, the Surface Pro 4 will be equipped with a Type Cover 3 and Docking Station for when it needs to transform into a portable laptop.
Memory Storage
Modern Readers claimed that the hybrid device will have up to 16 GB of RAM with 1 TB worth of on-board storage. The Surface Pro 4 is said to have 128GB, 256GB, and 500GB memory variants.
Price & Release Date
Modern Readers estimated that the Surface Pro 4 will be priced between $1,200 and $2,000. Fans of Microsoft's products should wait whether the device will launch alongside Windows 10.
How the Surface Pro 4 Differ From Surface Hub
Granted, Microsoft's touch-enabled TV, the Surface Hub, is a bigger device and is much more useful to businesses than the Surface Pro 4. But of course, those who can't afford the Surface Hub can settle for the Surface Pro 4, a device which also has striking and impressive features.
The tech giant's massive touch screen was built after Microsoft acquired Perceptive Pixel (PPI), Tech Crunch reported. The device is for conference room discussions, video calls, note taking, and running apps. The Surface Hub will be available in two main configurations: the 55-inch variant for $6,999 and the 84-inch version for $19,999.
Engadget pointed out that the Surface Hub is "a fully functioning Windows 10 PC, capable of running any app that would run on any other Windows machine." With its 100 simultaneous touch points, the Surface Hub can accommodate multiple people writing on its screen at once, or dragging and holding elements across its surface.
