Moto X 3rd Generation Release Date: Samsung Galaxy S6 Rival Priced for $460? Specs & Features Here [Rumors]
The expected rival of the Samsung Galaxy S6, the Moto X 3rd Generation or the Moto X (2015) is rumoured to be available in the market for a price tag of $464.
STJS reported that the new flagship phone of Motorola, which has been codenamed Calisto, will be sold for 29,775 INR or about $464. However, it noted that this could just be applicable to the sample phones and not to the actual ones that will be released in the market.
The device, which is expected to be released as early as September, will reportedly feature a 5.2" Quad HD display, making it a worthy competitor of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4, as per GSMArena.
It also noted that the phone may have a 1440 x 2560 pixel native resolution and will run on 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 mobile chipset. The device is also expected to come with 4GB of RAM.
GSMArena added that the device will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and will feature a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front shooter, which is perfect for selfies.
An earlier Gospel Herald report said that the device is expected to have a larger and improved primary camera with optical image stabilization and the capability of recording in 1080p. This feature is similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S6.
A photo shown on a separate STJS article revealed that the 3rd Generation Moto X would be capable of 4K recording at 30 frames per second, 1080p recording at 60 and 120 frames per second and 720p recording at 240 frames per second.
In addition, GottaBeMobile noted that the Moto X 2015 will be a great improvement compared to the company's previous releases because it can compete with other known brands and not only "slightly undercut the competition."
The same report also mentioned that the phone will have 32GB to 64GB storage with a micro-SD slot for expandable memory. It will also reportedly come with a 3,280 mAh battery.
"Motorola will be improving the cameras, adding more internal storage and bring back the famed micro-SD slot to better compete against Samsung's Galaxy S6, and employ a powerful 8-core processor to notch out the 6-core LG G4 that was just released this week," added GottaBeMobile.
The Moto X 2015 will be the first smartphone from Motorola under its new owner, Lenovo, which is more popular for its personal computers and laptops.
GottaBeMobile added that the company is not only focusing on their well-known and primary products, but also developing its own phones and tablets while staying true to its promise of keeping Motorola a separate company.
Users are already excited what the convergence of the two companies will bring into their products in terms of feature, design and performance, especially to the upcoming Moto X 3rd Generation.
