Samsung Galaxy S7 Release Date: Device to Run Like Laptops? Price, Specs & Features Here [Rumors]
Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are still under the spotlights when it comes to the tech giant's latest products, but rumors about the handset's successor, the purported Galaxy S7, are already going around.
We compiled the latest leaks and speculations about the Galaxy S7. Note that these are all unconfirmed at the moment and Samsung is yet to release an official statement about the mobile device.
Specs & Features
A report from www.samsunggalaxysvii.com published speculated specs and features of the Galaxy S7. According to the news outlet, the handset is expected to come with a whopping 8 GB RAM, which is larger than the RAM space usually included in laptops and desktop computers. This means that users are capable of doing majority of their office work using the Galaxy S7.
For improved speed and power, www.samsunggalaxysvii.com claimed that the mobile device will have 64bit Exynos processor with 4.5 GHz Snapdragon processor. The rumored smartphone is also said to come in at 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB internal memory variants. For its screen size, the Galaxy S7 will come in at 5.5 inches.
As for its camera, the Galaxy S7 is rumored to have a 30 MP primary shooter and a 10 MP for its front side. A GigaPixel feature is also expected in the device, which is for taking high resolution images and automatically putting them together for an ultra high definition picture, the news outlet wrote.
Aside from these, the Galaxy S7 is expected to have an 8K Super Amoled display, water and dustproof features, 5G network connection capable of enhancing Internet speed, and infrared sensor, www.samsunggalaxysvii.com listed. The infrared sensor "will be able to measure body temperature and see through walls," the news outlet noted.
Tech Radar previously talked about the specs and features they would want to see in the Galaxy S7. This includes lower prices, improved battery life, and a virtual reality feature.
Design
Citing reports, Value Walk wrote that the Samsung is considering producing flexible OLED panels for their future devices. According to the news outlet, flexible displays use "polyimide instead of a glass base in order to provide the panel with a greater flexibility and resilience."
Value Walk also noted that Samsung is working on including an iris scanner feature for the Galaxy S7. The tech company is reportedly collaborating with the Stanford Research Institute to employ this feature on its next generation of devices. Iris scanning technology is said to be more effective and reliable than the fingerprint scanner.
