iPhone 7 Out With A10 Processor? The Latest Release Date, Price, Specs & Features Details Here [Rumors]
Apple Inc's next smartphone offering, dubbed the iPhone 6S, has not been released yet, but it seems that the tech giant is excited to secure orders for the next generation iPhones, which is expected to arrive late next year.
According to Electronic Daily News, what made the company excited for its release is the rumored A10 processors from Taiwan Semiconductort Mfg. Co. Ltd, (TSMC) which will open a 10nm pilot line next month.
TSMC, according to Christian Today, is known to be one of the suppliers of the A9 chipset for Apple, together with the Korean company Samsung. However, it seems that the Taiwanese company is aiming to be the sole supplier of the A10 chipset for future iPhone devices, as well as other high-end smartphones in the market for the future.
There has been no official release dates for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, and there are theories that the Cupertino tech giant will have to announce the release dates of their new gadgets at a launch event that will possibly be held in September. With no confirmed news, all fans can count on for now are rumors.
Tech Times noted that Apple Inc. decided to turn to TSMC after the company ran into problems with their previous supplier, GlobalFoundries. The site said that GlobalFoundries had exceptionally poor A9 processor chip yield rates of 30 percent, way below the basic requirement of 50 percent.
The chip making industry is said to be having problems with its supply as it could not stock sufficient numbers for its 14-nanometer design due to the unexpected increase of demands for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy 6S Edge.
Reports from BGR also indicated that while TSMC is aiming to be the sole supplier for the A10 Chipsets for Apple Inc. next year, its main rival will still be Samsung, and is also looking to compete against Intel in the future.
Tech Times also said that it is expected for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6S devices to have a new Force Touch technology that will help users maximize the use of their touch screen gadgets, with rumors of improved fingerprint recognition systems.
Other than that, there is very little that is known about the upcoming iPhone 7, although according to The Week UK, there are rumors that it will feature a 12MP camera, which is a considerable upgrade. While the megapixel to capture memories have increased, there are also rumors that the iPhone 7 will be smaller than the previous generation of Apple's smartphones, as it is believed to be an updated, 4-inch version of the iPhone 6.
Again, none of these rumors have been confirmed, but we'll definitely be on the lookout for more updates.
