'Captain America: Civil War' Release Date, Cast & Spoilers: Crossbones Dying or Not?

Last week, Frank Grillo announced that he wrapped up filming his role as Crossbones for "Captain America: Civil War." It seems that fans will be seeing more of his character in the next installment.

He told his followers via social media, "To answer all those who think #CROSSBONES is done ....... Don't get caught w your guard down. #MayhemNeverDone #x".

Movie Pilot noted that if solely based on the comics, it would make sense for Crossbones to have a bigger role. After all, in the original storyline, Crossbones is supposed to play a key role in the death of Captain America, or as the website pointed out, the fake death of the Captain as a distraction for a real murderer in the name of brainwashed Agent 13.

However, there is also a possibility that Marvel and Disney are throwing a few fake curve balls. From the cast members, it seems that Crossbones will not make it out of "Civil War" alive, considering how early it is for the actor to wrap up his scenes.

While it is perfectly fine for a villain to appear in only half the scenes in a movie, Screen Rant reported that it seems unlikely that directors Joe and Anthony Russo will put a lot of hype on Crossbones only to turn him into one of the "underdeveloped movie villains" from Marvel.

Even Chris Evans, who plays Cap, posted a goodbye message for Grillo on his Twitter account, saying, "you will be sorely missed, brotha!"

News of Grillo's involvement in more scenes still remain questionable, but if there's one thing that fans surely do know about "Civil War" is that it's set after the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The official synopsis read: "Captain America: Civil War" picks up where "Avengers: Age of Ultron" left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

"Captain America: Civil War" is set to be released in the U.S. on May 6, 2016. It also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Martin Freeman and many more.
