Sony Xperia Z5 vs Xperia Z4: Release Date, Price, Specs & Features Roundup [Facts & Rumors]
Sony first released the Xperia Z4 in Japan last April. However, the tech company recently announced that Xperia fanatics will see a different name when the device launches globally in June. When that time comes, the handset will be named Xperia Z3+, which is identical to the already released Z4.
Amid a number of confusion, Sony issued a statement clarifying the reason behind the name change.
"The main reason for the name difference here is down to Sony being such a dominant force in the Japanese market [where] consumers crave flagship devices with the latest features as soon as they can be delivered," a spokesperson for the tech giant explained, as quoted by Android Headlines.
Sony's spokesperson continued, "Xperia Z3 continues to perform well as our flagship device across the rest of the world. To address those customers that would like to have the very latest features and refinements, we have introduced Xperia Z3+ as a premium addition to our existing flagship Z3 series."
Now the question plaguing the minds of some is this: What is the name of Sony's next flagship going to be? Sources say that it won't be labeled Xperia Z4, and instead will be called Xperia Z5.
We rounded up the rumors about the Xperia Z5 and compared it with the Xperia Z4. Note that these are unconfirmed at the moment and an official announcement from Sony is yet to be had about the Xperia Z5.
