Kris Jenner 'Momager' Trademark: 'KUWTK' Star Files Legal Documents for Name Use
The reality television's most popular matriarch is totally embracing her role as the "momager." And on a recent development, Kris Jenner seems like she is not too keen on sharing her "hug" of the title with anyone else.
The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" mother of six told People that she, indeed, filed legal documents asking for a trademark of the word "momager." The moniker has been coined and associated to Kris Jenner because of her work both as a mom and manager to her children.
The granting of her petition would entitle her to be the only "momager" in the entertainment industry. "She would have the right to sue anyone who uses the moniker without permission," People said.
The term "momager" is a portmanteau of the words "mom" and "manager." And, it's interesting to note that, in the past, the nickname was actually used in a disparaging nature to criticize Kris, according to the EntertainmentWise. She was given the bum wrap before by some people claiming that she was being more of a manager to her kids than she should be a mother first.
There's no better people to give their stamp of approval to the success of Kris in managing her household than her very own children. Kendall and Kylie honored her last Mother's Day with a massive bunch of flowers and room-sized balloon, as per People. Kim, on the other hand, gave her words of commendation for the momager.
"Everything I am, I owe it all to you mom! Everything I will teach my daughter you taught me first," Kim wrote on her Instagram. "Thank you mom for being there for me & loving me unconditionally! I love you so much!!"
And taking the cue from their mom, Kendall and Kylie were also reported to have filed the paperwork to trademark their first and last names, EntertainmentWise also cited.
The younger Jenner would like to trademark "Kylie Jenner" and "Kylie" for purposes of "entertainment in the nature of providing information by means of a global computer network in the fields of entertainment, fashion and pop culture; entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a celebrity, actress and model."
Kendall, meanwhile, decided she wanted to trademark her own name in order to use it on beauty products, clothing and more. The pair also wants to trademark "Kendall & Kylie."
Kris Jenner, born Kristen Mary Houghton on November 5, 1955, has an estimated net worth of $30 million, TheRichest noted.
