'American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson' Premiere & Spoilers: Official Cast Photos Revealed
Another one of Ryan Murphy's creations will be seen on the small-screen next year, and for "American Crime Story: The People v OJ Simpson", production is already under way.
Cast photos have also been released, and according to Screen Crush, it's not exactly the best of the best, describing the cast as "humans dressed as other humans."
Entertainment Weekly unveiled the six cast photos from the anticipated mini-series from "Glee" and "American Horror Story" producer Murphy. Cuba Gooding Jr will star as the titular OJ Simpson, with John Travolta as defense attorney Robert Shapiro, and Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clarke.
"Friends" actor David Schwimmer will also be appearing as Robert Kardashian, Courtney B. Vance as Johnnie Cochran and Billy Magnussen as Kato Kaelin.
The show also includes e Selma Blair as Kris Jenner, Jordana Brewster as Denise Brown, Kenneth Choi as Judge Ito, Connie Britton as Faye Resnick, Bruce Greenwood as Gil Garcetti, Steven Pasquale as Mark Fuhrman, Sterling K. Brown as Christopher Darden, Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Al Cowlings, Evan Handler as Alan Dershowitz and Cheryl Ladd as Linell Shapiro.
The 10-episode miniseries is based on the Jeffrey Toobin book, "The Run for His Life: The People v. OJ Simpson."
The Hollywood Reporter added that the episodes will be written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, with Ryan Murphy as the director and producer. Producing the series along with Murphy are Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Brad Falchuk.
The official synopsis reads:
"'American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson' is a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers that explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness, and the LAPD's history with the city's African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt."
"American Crime Story" will follow in the footsteps of Murphy's popular "American Horror Story" anthology, with subsequent seasons following other headline-making true-to-life crimes, although as Screen Crush noted, it isn't clear as to whether or not the series will reuse cast members, similar to AHS.
Without further ado, check out the newest cast photos here. David Scwhimmer in particular looked the part, don't you think?
What do you think of the cast and their photos so far? Do you wish to see the airing of this series next year, or is AHS more your style?
