iPad Air 3 Even Thinner Than iPad Air 2? Release Date, Price, Specs & Features Info Here [Rumors]
For those who found the iPad Air 2 ridiculously thin, wait til you hear about its successor.
The iPad Air 3, the purported successor to 2014's iPad Air 2, is expected to arrive in November, Vine Report noted. Estimated to start at $499, the device is touted to come in a 5-mm thickness, the outlet said.
Followers would notice that such measurement renders the alleged device thicker than its predecessor, which comes at a depth of 6.1 mm.
Citing a number of sources, Vine Report wrote that the iPad Air 3 is believed to pack an A9 or A9X chip, 32 GB starting storage, 7-inch display, 3 GB of RAM, 4G support, water-proofing and dust-proofing abilities.
The iPad Air 2 sports a 9.7-inch screen. If speculations hold truth, its successor looks to have a smaller and thinner physical architecture.
Meanwhile, ITPro said in a continually-updated article that the iPad Air 3 may be called the iPad 7 instead. Citing information from Crossmap, the outlet listed the inclusion of an "enhanced 4k resolution with 401 ppi" display, the density of which appears similar to the iPhone 6 Plus.
For those who may not know, Apple's iPad family is currently available in six models, ITPro noted. These include the original iPad (four generations launched), iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 1, iPad Mini 2, and iPad Mini 3. These being listed, the iPad Air 3 pegs to be the seventh iPad of the Cupertino giant.
Another side of the rumor mill expects the device to come in a whopping size of 12 inches and 4 GB of RAM, ITPro cited. This brings us to thoughts over the alleged iPad Pro, yet another rumored Apple tablet, expected to ship with a 12.9-inch display.
In a recent note, TechRadar India hopes to see the new iPad Air ditch the 16 GB storage option and start with the 32 GB model. The outlet finds it odd that the iPad Air 2, replacing the 32 GB option with 64 GB for the same price, has retained the 16 GB variant.
TechRadar India also wants to see the return of the silencing switch, better slow-motion video and battery boost. Design-wise, the outlet does not want to see the iPad Air 3 get any thinner, but it's really Apple's decision to make.
Other expected features listed by Expert Reviews include the USB Type-C connector found in the new MacBook, Force Touch or Taptic Engine technologies employed by the Apple Watch.
